Prince George’s County Executive Comments on the Sentencing of Jack Johnson

 

 

Tuesday, former Prince George's County executive Jack Johnson was sentenced to 87 months in federal prison. He must pay a $100,000 fine which 37,000 of that is due in February. He is also required to serve 3 years of probation after he completes his prison term.

His prison term will begin in January.

Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela D. Alsobrooks announced that on Friday, a jury found 31-year-old Jose Ricardo Odem of Fort Washington guilty of felony murder and other charges for shooting 34-year-old Leland Hunt of Camp Springs to death in December of 2009.  Hunt was shot at close range.

Police Investigate Homicide in Fairmount Heights

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the murder of 34 year-old Antwain Elisha Henderson that occurred early Wednesday morning in Fairmount Heights, Maryland.

On August 31, 2011, at approximately 5:00 a.m., patrol officers and fire fighters responded to the 800 block of Balsamtree Place for a vehicle fire.  Once the fire was extinguished, the burned body of Henderson, of the 5600 block of Coolidge Street, Capitol Heights, Maryland, was discovered inside the vehicle.  Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and establish a motive in this case.  The investigation is ongoing in this case.
