Police Make Arrest in Attempt Murder/Arson Investigation in Lanham

Prince George’s County, Maryland: The Prince George’s County Police Department’s District II Investigative Section has arrested Deanthony Nathan Bagley, 23, of the 600 block of 64th Avenue in Seat Pleasant, Maryland, in connection with the arson and attempted murder of a family yesterday morning in Lanham, Maryland.

Bagley has been charged with five counts of attempted 1st degree murder, one count of 1st degree assault, five counts of 1st degree arson, and one count of 2nd degree arson.  He is currently remanded to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections and is being held on a no-bond status.

Police Investigate Double Homicide in Fort Washington

Prince George’s County Maryland… The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the murders of Patricia Mercer Harris, 56, and Frank Lamar Harris, 20, both of the 11800 block of Hickory Drive in Fort Washington, Maryland.

On August 4, 2011, at approximately 4:37 a.m., patrol officers responded to the 11800 block of Hickory Drive for the report of shooting after receiving a call from a male resident of the home. Upon arrival, officers discovered the bodies of Patricia Harris and Frank Harris inside the residence. Both victims were found shot and pronounced deceased on the scene. The male who notified authorities is cooperating with detectives in this case as they work to identify the suspect(s) and establish a motive in this case.

Police Make Two Arrests in Fatal Stabbing in Riverdale

On July 14, 2011, at approximately 12:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 6200 block of 64th Avenue for a report of a cutting.  Upon arrival, the victim told officers that he was assaulted and stabbed in the parking lot while walking his dog.  Adkisson was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and eventually lapsed into a coma.  Adkisson died on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, from injuries sustained from the assault.

Ferguson is charged with first degree murder and is being held on a no bond status.  Gails is charged with second degree murder and is being held on a $750,000 bond.  Robbery appears to be the motive.

Investigators will canvass the area along the 6300 block of 64th Avenue in Riverdale on Thursday, August 4, 2011, from 11 a.m. to noon, to try and find additional witnesses to the incident.  The lead detective in the case will be there and available for comment.

Maryland Woman Sentenced to 27 Months in Prison


 WASHINGTON - Anika Williams, 35, of Bowie, Md., was sentenced July 26th, to 27 months in prison on a federal charge stemming from the theft of more than $450,000 from her employer, U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Machen Jr. announced.


Jason Scott Convicted of Federal Home Invasion, Firearms and Child Pornography Production Charges


Greenbelt, Maryland - A federal jury July,18th convicted Jason Thomas Scott, age 28, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, on 11 federal felony charges relating to a series of crimes committed during more than 50 burglaries and nine armed home invasion robberies.  The convictions include armed carjacking, production of child pornography, theft of firearms and related gun charges.  Scott has been held in custody since 2009.  The trial started on June 28 and lasted for three weeks.

The conviction was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Special Agent in Charge Theresa R. Stoop of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives - Baltimore Field Division; Chief Mark Magaw of the Prince George’s County Police Department; and Colonel Terrence Sheridan, Superintendent of the Maryland State Police.

Three Men Indicted in Conspiracy to Kidnap a Bank Employee

Greenbelt, Maryland - A federal grand jury has indicted Darrell Jose Carter, a/k/a “Shorty,” age 43, of Fort Washington, Maryland; Jeffery Edelen, age 42; and Kendall Taylor, a/k/a “Shamsideen Salaam,” age 40, both of Washington, D.C. for conspiracy to kidnap and use of a handgun during a crime of violence, in connection with the home invasion of a bank employee.

Identity of Suspects Sought in Armored Car Robbery in Clinton

Prince George’s County, Maryland:  The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects wanted in connection with an armored car robbery in Clinton, Maryland.

On April 25, 2011 at approximately 1:55 p.m., two suspects approached the victim from behind as he was transporting money in the 7800 block of Old Branch Avenue. One of the suspects displayed an assault rifle, the other suspect brandished a silver handgun and demanded the money from the victim. The victim complied and the suspects took an undetermined amount of cash and fled the scene in a white van.
