Man dies after car hits utility pole

FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (WUSA9) -- A Waldorf man has died after his car crashed into a utility pole on Sunday morning.

Prince George's County Police say 26-year-old Asa M. Hernandez died after his car collided with the pole in the 12700 block of Livingston Road in Fort Washington. Officers found Hernandez unresponsive at the sce. He was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead, say police. 

According to police, the preliminary investigation suggests Hernandez was traveling northbound on Livingston Road when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole.

Police say speed appears to be factor. They add that Hernandez was not wearing a seat belt.
